Berry Houses
Staten Island, NY
Dynamic performed comprehensive mechanical and utility upgrade work across eight six-story residential buildings at the Berry Houses complex in Staten Island, New York. The project focused on modernizing the existing heating and domestic hot water infrastructure to improve energy efficiency, system reliability, and long-term operational performance.
The scope of work included the installation of new high-efficiency sectional boilers at each building’s central plant, providing reliable space heating while significantly improving thermal efficiency over the existing systems. In addition, two high efficiency condensing domestic hot water heaters were installed in each building to ensure consistent and efficient hot water delivery to residents.
To support the upgraded mechanical systems, exterior double-wall stainless steel venting systems were installed at each building to safely and effectively exhaust combustion byproducts in compliance with current codes and standards. The project also required the installation of new gas services to accommodate the upgraded equipment, along with improvements to the electrical service to support the increased system demands.
Overall, the work enhanced the performance, efficiency, and resiliency of the buildings’ heating and domestic hot water systems, while minimizing disruptions to residents and ensuring compliance with applicable safety, energy, and regulatory requirements.
